Calgary, Alberta - Heartland Generation is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the first companies awarded funding from the Government of Alberta’s Hydrogen Centre of Excellence.
With support from Alberta Innovates, Heartland will continue to advance our Battle River Carbon Hub (BRCH) project by performing hydrogen burner testing at our Battle River Generating Station.

Heartland Generation continues to be a leader in the energy transition, and this funding will support our goal to transition legacy coal power infrastructure to hydrogen-fueled power at our Battle River Generating Station, while also creating economic opportunities in our rural communities.
